Door Lock Replacement Guide
1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 F150, F250, Bronco
1: Remove 8 Phillips head screws from the interior door panel. Lift and rotate the electronic window and lock controls and push through the opening on the door panel. Lift the panel up over the door lock knob. Lift the panel towards the front of the truck while pulling the door handle. The panel should be free now except for the door light. From the inside of the panel rotate the door light to release it. Set the panel to the side.
2: On the inside of the door, find the door lock. Remove the metal rod from the plastic clip.
3: Remove the lock retainer clip from the side of the door with a pair of pliers. Remove the door lock by pulling it out through the outside of the door and rotating so the plastic clip does not get caught on the door.
4: Insert the new door lock, make sure the plastic clip is pointing towards the front of the truck. Insert the door lock retainer clip through the side of the door using pliers. Make sure the door lock is secure.
5: From the inside of the door, reattach the metal rod to the plastic clip of the door lock.
6: Take the door panel and put the door light back in by inserting and rotating. Push the electronic window and lock controls through the opening on the panel. Slide the panel over the door handle from the front. Once the door handle is through the opening, lift the handle to make it easier to slide the panel. Lower the panel, making sure the door lock knob is fit into its opening. Finally screw in the 8 Phillips head screws on the door panel.
